Friends of Cambridge Athletics (FOCA) is a volunteer-led 501(c)3 non-profit organization, whose mission is to support Cambridge Rindge and Latin School’s (CRLS) athletic teams and clubs through collaboration with the Athletic Director, coaches, and other school/city leaders and to award graduating student-athletes with college scholarships.
FOCA partners with the Andrea Harvey Memorial Fund (AHMF), honoring the memory of Andrea Harvey, a CRLS alumna and former math teacher at East Boston High School(EBHS). AHMF awards scholarships to college-bound high school seniors from CRLS and EBHS.
All CityRun proceeds will go to supporting the FOCA and AHMF scholarship and athletic programs.
About Friends of Cambridge Athletics (FOCA)
Established in 1999, FOCA’s volunteers collaborate with the CRLS Athletics Department, PE/Health staff, and city leaders to serve as a booster organization for CRLS athletic teams and clubs. FOCA serves as a fiscal conduit for team fundraising and provides grants for equipment, training, and travel. Additionally, FOCA recognizes excellence by awarding scholarships to graduating college-bound student-athletes.
About the Andrea Harvey Memorial Fund (AHMF)The AHMF honors the memory of Andrea Harvey, a dedicated teacher, life-long learner, talented musician, artist, and devoted friend. Through the fund, four scholarships are awarded to deserving college-bound high school seniors from CRLS (Andrea’s alma mater) and East Boston High School (where Andrea taught math), two students from each school. Additionally the fund awards two scholarships, one at each school, to college-bound students in memory of Les Kimbrough, the former treasurer of AHMF and a Dean at CRLS. Because Andrea’s life was cut short by domestic violence, the fund also supports domestic violence prevention programs.
